Kris Brown
Kris Brown “Coach Brown” is the Owner of OC Sports Fundamentals. A football player in his youth, he attended New Mexico Highlands University on a football scholarship, where he studied Human Performance, and Sport with a minor in Coaching. After college, he went into coaching for different high schools in the community.
Kris has over 13 years and counting of coaching experience to bring to the table. He started out his coaching journey as the Varsity Wide Receivers Coach at Santa Ana High School for eight seasons. During this time, he also worked as a Student Support Paraprofessional in the Special Education Department, allowing him to get valuable experience working with youth athletes on and off the field. He currently serves as the Varsity Defensive Backs Coach at Canyon High School, where he continues to develop student athletes by focusing on fundamentals, discipline, and long-term growth.
Kris’ coaching philosophy is centered around long-term development. He believes in building athletes from the ground up, focusing on fundamentals, proper technique, and consistent growth. His philosophy extends outside the field of play, emphasizing high character, discipline, hard work, and dedication to develop not just athletes, but well-rounded individuals. His approach trains the mind, body, and spirit to prepare athletes for success on and off the field.
He was inspired by his own youth coaches, who made it their mission to make youth sports fun, competitive, and family-oriented, and he wants to do the same for those he coaches now. Having recovered from an injury himself, he developed a passion to helping athletes deal with the mental side of athletics as well as the physical, leading him to start coaching.
While football was where his heart was growing up, Kris is a fan of all sports and enjoys watching athletes compete in their chosen discipline.
